Markets
Nillumbik's markets are a community event with people coming from across Melbourne to enjoy the wide array of goods on offer and the colourful and vibrant atmosphere of each of our markets.
Hurstbridge Farmers Market is held all year round, from February to December on the first Sunday of the month in the delightful setting of Fergusons paddock in Hurstbridge. Entry is by gold coin donation with proceeds to the local CFA. In December a Twilight Market is held close to Christmas.
St Andrews Market is held every Saturday from 8am until 2pm in a wonderful bushland setting. At certain times of the year special markets are held and in December a twilight market is also held close to Christmas.
Eltham Community Craft and Produce Market is held on the third Sunday of each month from February until October offering a wonderful atmosphere and quality produce. In November and December the market is held on the first and third Sunday of the month.
Diamond Creek Indoor Market is held a couple of times a year in Diamond Creek and boasts over 50 stalls of quality new products and is well worth a visit. Check their website for future dates.
Outdoor Activities
Nillumbik offers many outdoor activities including, the Diamond Valley Minature Railway for families, a range of parks with facilities ranging from an adventure playground and picnic facilities. Other ideas for families or groups include raspberry picking at Kinglake Raspberries, or grab a bike or your rollerblades and skate, ride or walk along the many bike paths. Wineries, relaxation and shopping
With over 20 wineries to choose from, contact the Nillumbik Tourism Information Centre (1300 66 00 72) for a copy of the Winery Trail brochure. Download a winery map of Nillumbik and information on all the wineries and take yourself, partner, friends and family, on a leisurely drive through Nillumbik and visit our cellar doors.
There is also an opportunity to relax and unwind at one of our health and wellbeing salons scattered throughout Eltham and Hurstbridge. If a vigorous workout is more your style, then visit the Eltham or Diamond Creek YMCA and enjoy a swim or gym session.
For some easy and convenient shopping visit the friendly townships of Diamond Creek, Hurstbridge and Eltham where you will find many quality products, services and gift shops.
Theatre and Entertainment
Visit the Eltham Little Theatre - a little theatre with a big heart, creating and promoting amateur theatre for the community to participate in and enjoy.
